Different Strokes For . . .
Workshop Dates: 7/9/2012 - 7/12/2012
Location: San Diego Watercolor Society
2825 Dewey Rd #105
San Diego California 92036

All painting levels welcome. The SDWS is located at Liberty Station, the former historic Naval Training Center in San Diego. It's one of the best workshop facility venues! The Station boasts a park-like setting with great restaurants and shops, is central to many of San Diego's most scenic sights, and only a couple of miles from the airport.
This four-day workshop will cover wet into wet washes, good values and the use of strong compositions. Joe will demonstrate how to control the “loose-to-tight, light-to-dark” method of painting. In addition, he will show how to create textures and use them in your paintings.

New Zealand Painting Holiday

Location: The bays, beaches and islands of the Kowhai Coast
Matakana, North Island (Outside USA)

Paint Alongside Barrett Edwards!

Join Barrett Edwards as you spend a holiday painting and sightseeing on the beautiful Kowhai Coast north of Auckland, New Zealand! She is a popular art show jurist and experienced oil painting workshop teacher, leading sessions in Provence, Tuscany, the Bahamas, and in Acadia National Park, Maine. She is represented by Catherine Kelleghan Gallery (Atlanta, GA); Sheldon Fine Art (Naples, FL and Newport, RI), and Le Bourdon (Naples).
The Southern Cross ArtVenture crew will handle all accommodations, transportation and meals to ensure your vacation is memorable!
Southern Cross ArtVentures is a group of artists who love New Zealand. Adele Earnshaw and Joanne Hanson are native New Zealanders, Jim Hanson (Joanne's husband) and Joe & Anne Garcia are American but have spent so much time there they are almost Kiwis! Adele and Joe are both known for their fun painting workshops in the U.S. and Europe. Adele, Joe, Anne, Jim and Joanne formed Southern Cross ArtVentures to accommodate students' requests for painting trips to Adele's native New Zealand. Unlike traditionally structured painting workshops where students spend the day in the studio with only one or two excursions to paint on location, the SCAV 'workshops' are painting holidays designed to let you see the sights with your partner or spouse while you still have plenty of time to improve your skills.

Location: Matakana, North Island, New Zealand
United States
Southern Cross ArtVentures has designed a holiday expressly for full-time artists who want to see New Zealand through the eyes of native New Zealanders. It is not a workshop, but a week filled with painting the bays, islands and beaches of the Kowhai Coast.
The trip is limited to 12-16 artists. Keep in mind that the holiday is ideal also for the non-painting spouse/partner or friend with each painting location offering opportunities for hiking, photography, beach combing or just relaxing. There are plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. Just visit the Painting New Zealand website to read about all the artventures that will make your painting vacation "down under" memorable!
So, pack your paints, along with your togs and jandals (swimsuit and flip-flops), and come with us to New Zealand!
